CANTON, Mo. – William Woods (2-16, 2-11 heart) was unable to find its rhythm on Monday night, falling 76-45 on the road to Culver-Stockton (15-6, 9-4 Heart).
The Owls worked to stay within striking distance early, but the Wildcats would create their separation in the second quarter when the Owls' offense went quiet. With the Wildcats offense clicking, the Owls would head into the half down big, looking for a way to dig into the lead.
Looking to respond after the break, the Owls brought energy out of the gate, but shots were tough to come by as the game wore on. Despite the tough stretch on offense, the Owls' defense was able to keep the game within striking distance in the second half.
Despite the second-half effort, the first half was just too much to overcome for the Owls, as they would fall to Culver-Stockton 76-45.
Mariah Prince led the scoring charge in the second half for the Owls as she finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds, while
Mya Pflasterer finished with 10 of her own.
Owls will get a quick turnaround as they are set to play Central Methodist University on Wednesday in Anderson Arena for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
