FULTON, Mo.- William Woods women's basketball (2-11, 2-6 Heart) dropped a 61–48 decision to Benedictine College (10-5, 6-1 Heart) on Saturday despite a competitive effort across all four quarters.
The Owls were held to eight points in the opening period but settled in offensively over the middle half, trading baskets and staying within striking distance. William Woods continued to battle defensively in the second half, adding six steals in the final two quarters. Benedictine's consistency down the stretch proved decisive.
Noku Mundoringisa led the Owls with a season high of 11 points and five rebounds, while Mya Pflasterer added 10 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Jersee Wren also finished in double figures with 10 points.
Mariah Prince contributed a well-rounded performance with seven points, six rebounds, and three assists, and Megan Hughes chipped in six points off the bench.
William Woods travels to Fayette on Wednesday to take on Central Methodist University in another Heart of America Conference matchup. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
