MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Owls Lacrosse concluded their weekend trip to Tennessee with a game against the Warriors of Webber International University. The Warriors seven straight goals before William Woods appeared on the scoreboard, resulting in a 12-7 loss for WWU.
William Woods' first goal came midway through the second quarter from freshman
Collis Rhodes off the assist by
Jack Brackin during a man-up stint.
Ethan NewMyer took advantage of being up as well, scoring just minutes after Rhodes via pass from
Xavier Dockery. The first half concluded with two more goals by Webber International, making the score 9-2 entering the break.
The second half was a different story for the Owls, outscoring their opponent 5-3, the first of which from the stick of freshman
Lyle Wiley, marking his first goal in Woods' green.
Joey Weingardt piled on a pair of scores, one early into the fourth period and one with less than a minute of play left. Both were assisted by NewMyer.
Connor White was able to find the net a after five minutes of play in the fourth, the assist again from NewMyer. The final goal scored by William Woods was off the shot of
Jack Brackin, earning his goal without an assist.
Zach Hearn was in the net for 45 minutes, tallying six saves.
Drew Stubblefield defended the goal for 15, saving one shot.
The Owls return to Fulton 0-3, looking for win number one in a home contest against Aquinas College on Friday, Mar. 6th at 4 p.m.
