Game Recap: Flag Football |

Stout Baker Defense Limits William Woods

FULTON, Mo. - Baker University traveled to town for a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Flag Football matchup with the Owls. Today's contest marked the third time in two years the pair of teams have faced off, with the Wildcats improving to 3-0 in the series off of the 42-0 victory over the Owls.

Baker's offense was able to find a moderate amount of success against the Owls given their time of possession. Despite their 42 points, the Woods' defense displayed their prowess on multiple occasions. WWU was able to stop the Wildcats a multitude of times, like the first drive of BU's, giving the Owls' offense chances. Unfortunately, those chances resulted in little in terms of scoring.

Two of the William Woods stops came by way of interception. Addie Chilek picked the quarterback off late in the first quarter. The second interception was by the efforts of Olivia Menard late into the second half, halting a promising Baker drive.

Shamya Williams manned the quarterback position for the Owls, throwing for 110 yards. Her leading receivers were Chilek and Menard, grabbing 7 receptions for 43 yards and 6 receptions for 30 yards each.

A'Jah Smith and Anye Glasper were flying around the field, each making 9 solo flag pulls and 10 total. Sam Menard sacked the quarterback twice, and Olivia Menard added one herself.

Flag Football will play next on Saturday, March 28th in Salina, Kan. for another KCAC contest against Kansas Wesleyan University at 1 p.m.
