FULTON, Mo. - William Woods Flag Football hosted a top-ranked opponent in the Ottawa University Braves for a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference match up at the North Campus Athletic Complex. The seasoned Braves squad proved to be too much for the Owls on both sides of the ball, defeating WWU 47-0.
OU found pay dirt for the first time early in the first period, jumping to a 7-0 lead. However, the Woods had a chance to respond after a
Sam Menard interception that set their offense up with a first and goal situation from within the five yard line. Despite the field position, though, WWU was unable to cross the goal line, a theme that would continue.
The Braves were cruising on offense, scoring six more touchdowns before the dust would settle. After a hard fight from both sides, William Woods would leave with a loss on the evening entering their final conference contest.
Sophomore
Shamya Williams was once again receiving snaps for the Owls, throwing for 120 yards and rushing for 26.
Addie Chilek racked up double digit receptions at 10, accruing 45 yards in total.Â
Chilek and Williams also led the defense in flag pulls, tallying 6 and 5 respectively. Chilek and
Anye Glasper each had a pass break up.
