Box Score BATESVILLE, Ark. – The William Woods University men's basketball team drilled nine three-point field goals in a 75-63 American Midwest Conference road victory at Lyon College on Saturday afternoon.

Blake Burgess and Logan Decker went a combined 7-of-9 from three-point land to help William Woods (12-13, 8-4 AMC) hit exactly .500 from behind the arc on the day. The WWU defense held Lyon College (7-16, 4-8 AMC) to a .381 percentage from the floor.

The Owls held a 40-28 advantage in the rebounding department due in large part to Daniel Armah's 13 rebounds. The 6-6 forward also scored a game-high 16 points to give him his eighth double-double on the year. The rebound advantage led to William Woods scoring 26 second chance points.

After dropping four games in a row, the Owls have regrouped and put together a three-game winning streak. The win extends the school record for most AMC wins in a season to eight.

In the first half neither team could gain more than a six point advantage the first 15:00 minutes. However, WWU would go on a 13-4 run to give them a 10-point lead at 33-23 with nine seconds left. Lyon would hit a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to give William Woods a 33-25 lead going into halftime.

A three-point play by Armah would give the Owls their double-digit lead back at 36-26 in the opening stages of the second half.

A Marcus Williams three-pointer would cut the WWU lead to six at 51-45 at the 10:30 mark. That would be as close as the Scots would get as William Woods built its second half lead to 15 points before earning the 75-63 victory.

Decker scored 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting , while Burgess (14 points) and D.J. Hoskins (10 points) each scored double-figures.

William Woods wraps-up its two-game Arkansas road trip on Tuesday as they travel to Williams Baptist College. The Owls defeated the Eagles 103-55 in Fulton on Jan. 15, the 103 points tied a school record for most points in a game. Tip-off for the game will be approximately at 7:30 p.m.
