FULTON, Mo.- After splitting their double-header against Tabor College, moving their record to 4-4, the William Woods baseball team will rest up and get ready for another double-header against Midland University and # 10 pre-season ranked Oklahoma Baptist.
The Owls are still batting .311 overall as a team and are led by 
Eilert Meyers who is holding a .471 average, going 8-for-17 with five runs batted in. 
Zach Nichols and 
Jordan Thompson are both batting .429, combining for six RBI and eight runs scored. 
Justin Elmore is hitting exactly .400 on the early season.
On the mound the Owls are led by 
Adam Brush, who is has a 2.16 earned run average, having a 2-1 overall record in 16 innings pitched and leads the team in strikeouts with 12. 
John Cavness is second on the team in ERA (2.25), and 
Dane Smith is third with a 3.75 ERA and is second on the team in innings pitched with 12.
Midland is off to a 7-5 record, however, the team has lost three out of falling to Oklahoma Baptist and York College who is also receiving votes. The team is batting a solid .316 overall, with 43 RBI's and a slugging percentage of .423. There are eight players batting over .300 and four batting over .400. Leading the way offensively is Dylan Steyer, who is batting .467, going 7-for-15, with one home run and five runs batted in. Another bat to lookout for is Sean Urzendowski, totaling nine runs batted in and hitting .409 on the season.
On the hill, Midland is holding their opponents to a .225 average, with Tyler Brungardt pitching near perfection, having a 0.64 ERA to go along with a 2-0 record and nine strikeouts. Dillion Cotner is also 2-0 on the season, leading the team in strikeouts with 12 and holds a 2.70 ERA.
#10 pre-season ranked Oklahoma Baptist is off to a strong start on the season with a 12-5 record, going 4-4 against teams that are either receiving votes or were in the pre-season rankings. The Bisons are riding high right now with an eight game winning streak. The team is batting .284 overall, with 104 hits and five home runs. Mason Ankeney is off to a fantastic start for the Bisons, hitting .447 with 17 hits, one home run and 12 runs batted in.
In 97 innings pitched, the Bison hurlers are holding their opponents to a mere .235 average and have a K/BB ratio of 100/50. Julian Merryweather leads the way on the mound with a 2.65 average, earning a 2-0 record and totaling 17 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched.
The game against Midland is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m., while the Oklahoma Baptist game will start shortly after at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.
