FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team looks to get back to the .500 mark in American Midwest Conference play and pull an upset against No. 10 ranked Freed-Hardeman University Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Owls (4-6: 1-2AMC) are coming off a key 86-70 road victory against Haskell Indian Nations University last Saturday night, a game that saw five WWU players score in double-digits.

William Woods shot 48 percent from the field, led by AMC Player of the Week,
DJ Johnson, who recorded his second double-double performance of the season, with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

After sitting out the first part of the season with an injury,
Derrick Hayes collected 15 points and five rebounds in his first game of the year.

Alec Mulvihill, ended the night right behind Hayes, with 14 points, going 7-for-12 from the field, while
Ryan Hill and
Nate Bitner netted 11 and 10 points, respectively.

On the season, Johnson leads the Owls offensively, averaging 13.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. He is shooting 57 percent from the floor, which is 23
rd best in the NAIA. The forward also leads the team in blocks with nine on the season.

Sophomore,
Ryan Hill is right behind Johnson in scoring, as the St. Louis native is averaging 12 points per game, shooting 56 percent from the field and has hit 11-of-22 from beyond the arc. Senior,
Nate Bitner has contributed 10.8 points per game and has collected 41 rebounds on the season.

The Lions are currently 8-1 on the season and are a perfect 4-0 in the AMC standings. FHU averages 78 points per game while holding opponents to 67 points. They are led by guard Cameron Lewis, who is averaging 19.2 points per game which is 21
st best in the NAIA. He has also scored in double-digits in every game except for one this season for the Lions.

A couple of other key players for the Lions Evan Forhetz and Ben Meis, as the guards are averaging 15.6 and 12.1 points per game, respectively.

The Owls will have an advantage inside the paint, as the team has totaled 381 rebounds on the season, to the Lions 309. However, WWU will have to battle on the defensive side, as FHU shoots a 46 percent from the field and a 38 percent from beyond the arc.
