KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The (RV) William Woods University baseball team will take a break from its American Midwest Conference (AMC) part of their schedule, as the Owls will pay a visit to Avila University for a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon. The first pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.

The Owls(20-6; 8-3 AMC) are coming off a three game series sweep against Harris-Stowe State University, that saw WWU outscore the Hornets 33-12. The team escaped a 3-2 hard fought battle in game one, and then concluded the series in dominating fashion, plating 30 runs on 29 hits, to sweep the doubleheader. The Owls would record its 20
th win on the season with the season series sweep on the weekend and extend its win streak to five games.

In the last five games, WWU is hitting .362 from the dish as a team, outscoring its opponents 43-15, while posting a .470 slugging percentage.
Austin Clapp has been hot offensively, as the senior has gone 9-for-16 (.563) in the last five games, collecting a double, triple and plating eight RBI's.
Larry Price has also been an offensive threat, hitting .438, going 7-for-16 and tallying two stolen bases.

In the Eagles last outing, the team sweep Central Methodist University in a doubleheader, escaping game one 2-1 and then winning the second game 7-4. The doubleheader sweep extended AU to a four game win streak, where they have outscored its opponents 17-9 in those four games.

The team is led by Kyle Simmons, who is hitting .387 from the plate, recording 17 doubles and 14 RBI's.
