Women's Soccer Hosts Central Baptist Saturday

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Women's Soccer team looks to extend its winning streak to five games on Saturday, October 15th when they host Central Baptist College in American Midwest Conference action. The match kicks-off at 1 p.m.

About the Owls
- The Owls enter the match on a four game winning streak and an overall record of 5-6-1 and an AMC record of 4-3. WWU has claimed 12 points in the AMC and are sitting in sixth place in the conference.
- Over the four game winning streak, the Owls have victories over Williams Baptist, Freed- Hardeman, Lyon, and Stephens. They have scored 10 goals in those four games.
- Jenna Vogt leads the Owls in assists with four, collecting three in the match against Stephens College on Tuesday. Vogt assisted on the Owls first three goals against the Stars.
- Sophomore Rebecca Sturgess ranks 40th in the nation in saves with 71, and 42nd with saves per game, averaging 6.45 saves.

About the Mustangs
- The Mustangs enter the match with a 1-11 overall record and a 1-6 record in AMC play. Central Baptist enters the game on a six game losing streak, with its last win coming on September 17th.
- Central Baptist last match came on October 11th when they were defeated by Lyon, 10-1. By scoring the one goal, the Mustangs snapped a five game streak of not scoring.
- As a team, they are ranked sixth in the nation in saves with 130. Leading the way for the Mustangs is Kalynn Simpson, who ranks fourth in saves with 128, and ninth in saves per game averaging 10.670

What's Next
With the regular season coming to an end, the Owls only have two of its final four games at Firley Field. They return to action on October 19th at 5 p.m. when they host Park University at Firley Field.
