Big Inning Haunts Owls Baseball

Box Score PITTSBURG, Kan. – A big fifth inning haunted the William Woods University Baseball team on Sunday when Doane College defeated the Owls, 18-3. Doane scored 15 runs in the top of the fifth inning blowing the game open.
 
Game Flow
Doane scored the first run of the contest in the top of the first inning and extended their lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning. The Owls started chipping away at the lead as they scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning and tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
 
With the game tied at 3-3, the Tigers opened the game wide open as they put up 15 in the top of the fifth inning.
