Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Women's Tennis team won its third match of the season as they defeated Oakland City University, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex on the campus of William Woods University.
The Owls jumped out to an early lead as they won both doubles matches and won one by forfeit.
Julia Mulder and
Paige Smith tamed up for an 8-0 victory in no. 1 doubles, while
Felicia Cesar and
Alba Salinas won no. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Smith came back in singles and won no. 1 singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, over Charity Prinzing.
Karyna Sagalai defeated Ashley Forbes, 6-0, 6-1.
Felicia Ceasar, no. 3 singles, and
Alba Salinas, No. 4 singles, won in straight sets, 6-0,6-0, over its opponents clinching the win for the Owls.
The Owls return to action tomorrow when they travel to Overland Park, Kan. to face Ottawa University at the Overland Park Racquet Club starting at 1 p.m.
