Box Score 2 BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The William Woods University women's tennis won its third straight match of the week when the Owls defeated Baker University, 8-1, and Saint Louis College of Pharmacy, 5-1, on Friday. The wins for the Owls climbed its win total to 13 wins on the season.

The Owls came out swinging as they took all three points in doubles action against Baker.
Felicia Cesar and
Alba Salinas defeated Taylor Swartzendruber, 8-1, in No. 3 doubles.
Chelsea Steward and
Julia Mulder defeated Jaimie Myers and Morgan Francis, 8-2. Claiming the third point was
Karyna Sagalai and
Paige Smith, who won 8-5.
William Woods only dropped one singles match on the day. Brooke Barnard defeated
Paige Smith, 6-1, 6-1, in No. 1 singles. After dropping the match, the Owls won the rest of the singles matches of the contest.
Sagalai defeated Holly Chestnut, 6-2, 6-0, in No. 2 singles. Steward defeated Myers, 6-3, 6-1, in No. 3 singles. Salinas defeated Francis, 6-3, 6-0.
The Owls continued to earn its points as
Felicia Cesar and
Julia Mulder claimed No. 5 and No. 6 singles on the day and the Owls defeated Baker, 8-1.
WWU vs. St. Louis Pharmacy
The Owls did not waste anytime claiming its first points of the day against Pharmacy. Sagalia, Salinas, Cesar and Mulder all won in straight sets. Sagalai defeated Masha Kurenok, In No. 2 singles, while Salinas defeated Reed Smith in No. 4 singles. Cesar was victorious over Victoria Mauzy in No. 5 singles and
Julia Mulder won by defeat.
Steward claimed the fifth point for the Owls when she defeated Kara Wesolowski 6-1, 6-0, in No. 4.
The lone match the Owls lost was No. 1 singles as Michelle Tulchinskaya defeated
Paige Smith, 6-1, 6-1.
The Owls and Pharmacy did not play start its doubles matches.
The Owls return to action on Wednesday, April 20th at 4 p.m. when they host Lindenwood University – Belleville at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex.
