Box Score COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University Women's Tennis team defeated Stephens College, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Owls jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles. In No. 3 doubles, Alba Salinas and Felicia Cesar defeated Rachel Mecklenburg and Margaret Thomas, 8-0. The doubles team of Julia Mulder and Abigail Lemberger defeated Gracie Strawn and Aleesa Wolf, 8-1, in No. 2 doubles. Paige Smith and Karyna Sagalai defeated Courtney Huels and Jada Kyle, 8-5, in No. 1 doubles.
 
Sagalai and Salinas clinched the match for the Owls in No. 2 and 3 singles. Both Sagalai and Salinas won 6-1, 6-0 to clinch the match. Sagalai defeated Jada Kyle and Salinas defeated Gracie Strawn.
 
Paige Smith, who was playing No. 1 singles, did not finish her match as she led Courtney Huels, 6-1, 2-0. The rest of the singles action did not play.
 
The Owls return to action on April 28th when they travel to Olathe, Kan. for the Conference Tournament. Opponents have not been announced.
