Owls Baseball Hosts Lindenwood-Belleville Friday and Saturday

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Baseball team returns to Owl Field this Friday and Saturday when they host American Midwest Conference (AMC) opponent, Lindenwood University-Belleville. The Owls and Lynx will square off for one game on Friday starting at 4 p.m. Saturday will be a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
 
The Owls (19-16, 6-9 AMC) are coming off a 10-5 victory over Central Methodist University on Tuesday night. The Owls have won three of its last four contests. In the non-conference game on Tuesday, the Owls used a six run top of the sixth to take the lead that they never gave up the rest of the contest.

On the season the Owls are batting .306 on the season, collecting 324 hits, with 80 extra base hits. WWU has scored 232 runs this season. Ryan Phillips leads the team with a .468 (37-for-79) batting average on the season. Jordan Dey and Tanner Wetrich following as they are hitting .360 and .358 on the season. Phillips leads the team with 36 RBI and Dey leads the team with 20 extra base hits.
 
On the mound, the Owls Jacob Guilianelli leads the team with a 2.97 ERA in 30.1 innings this season. He has appeared in seven games making six starts. Caleb Bounds follows with an ERA of 3.86. Ryan Philips and John Cavness, each of started nine games this season hold ERA's of 4.33 and 4.64 on the season. Both have a complete game shutout on the season. Cavness leads the team with five wins on the year and Phillips follows with four wins.
 
As a pitching staff, the Owls have a team ERA of 5.78 and are holding opponents to a batting average of .292 on the season.
 
The Lynx of Lindenwood University-Belleville enter this AMC series with a record of 10-30 and are 4-11 in AMC games this season. LU-B has dropped its last 11 games this season and the Lynx last win came on March 19th when they swept Harris-Stowe in a doubleheader.
 
On the season, Eric Hansen leads the team with a batting average of .384 as he has 56 hits in 146 at-bats this season. He also has eight doubles on the season. Right behind Ferguson is Cory Lubinski, who is hitting .328 on the season with six doubles, two triple and two home runs. Drew Fair leads the team with 18 RBI on the season.
 
On the mound for Lindenwood-Belleville, the Lynx hold a team ERA of 5.69 and are allowing opponents to hit .284 on the season. Leading the way for the Lynx is starter Jason Roberts. Roberts has appeared in seven games making six starts, throwing one complete game shutout this season. Roberts has a record of 3-2 on the season and an ERA of 3.51. Leading Lindenwood-Belleville from the pen is Jordan Savage who has pitched 16.2 innings on the season and holds an ERA of 2.70 in eight appearances.

The Lynx have been outscored 254-179 on the season.
 
Last season the Owls took two of three games from Lindenwood-Belleville. William Woods dropped the opening game, 2-1, but rebounded sweeping the doubleheader the following day.
