Baseball Hosts Columbia Friday and Saturday

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team returns home to host Columbia College in an AMC matchup on Friday, April 14th and Saturday, April 15. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.

About the Owls
- The Owls are 20-22 overall with an AMC record of 12-9, currently in fourth place in the AMC
- WWU is coming off a 12-1 loss to Avila University on Wednesday afternoon. The Owls Konrad Kemper drove in the lone run for the Owls
- Ryan Phillips leads the Owls pitching staff in strikeouts with 73 on the season averaging 9.39 in 70 innings pitched. Phillips also has an AMC ERA of a 1.90, which is second best in conference play, and has collected six wins
- Offensively, the Owls are hitting .286 in the AMC action and have collected 190 hits, scored 125 runs, 34 doubles, three triples and have hit 11 homeruns
- Nolan Aherin leads the Owls offense in batting average with a .323 and has collected 41 hits including four doubles, two homeruns and 16 RBIs

About the Cougars
- The Cougars are 26-13 overall with an AMC record of 16-5
- Columbia lost its last game, 12-5, to Central Methodist
- Offensively, the Cougars are 13th in hits per game averaging 10.69 hits
- They are also 25th in total hits (417) and have an overall batting average of .326 and an AMC batting average of .340
- Andrew Warner is leading the Cougars in batting average (.449) ranking him 14th with 62 hits and is also leading in RBIs with 50 in the season. Warner is also top 25 in seven offensive categories
- Cody Ebert leads the Cougars in strikeouts with 55 in the season, averaging 8.79 strikeouts per appearance and holding opponents to a batting average of .234. Ebert is also ranked fourth in wins with eight on the season

After the Owls conclude the three-game set with the Cougars, WWU will host College of the Ozarks in a non-conference doubleheader on April 19th. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
