Baseball Hosts Columbia Monday in AMC Action

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Baseball team hosts the Cougars of Columbia College on Monday, April 9th for an AMC doubleheader. First-pitch of the doubleheader is set for 5 p.m. at Owl Field.
 
About the Owls
- WWU enters the contest with a 24-14 overall record and are 12-7 in the AMC
- The Owls are coming off a series victory over Williams Baptist College. WWU took game one and three from the Eagles
- William Woods is 7-1 on Owl Field during the 2018 season
- WWU is 41st in the NAIA in stolen bases collecting 68. Six players have eight or more steals, with Glen DesBouillons leading the team with 11

- The Cougars enter the contest with an overall record of 24-9 and an AMC record of 11-7
- Columbia is coming off a series victory over Central Baptist. CC took the first two games from the Mustangs before falling in the final game of the series
- CC is ranked 21st in the NAIA in batting average with an average of .325
- Andrew Warner leads the team with a batting average of .438 and has 46 hits. Warner also leads in RBIs with 32
- The Cougars have hit 20 home runs on the season with Andrew Warner leading the way with 10 home runs
- The pitching staff has an ERA of 3.65 which is 21st in the NAIA and an opponent batting average of 0.253, 36th best in the NAIA

The Owls return to action on Friday, April 13th when they host Park University in AMC action. The three-game set starts at 4 p.m. with a single nine-inning game.
