FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods women's soccer team returns to the field this Tuesday night as they face AMC opponent, Missouri Baptist University. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Firley Field.

About the Spartans
Missouri Baptist is currently 0-4-1 on the season. They opened their 2018 season against (RV) Missouri Valley where they were defeated 3-1 on Aug. 22nd. The Spartans were shutout their next three games before tying 1-1 with Culver-Stockton on Sept. 8th.

Cassandra Willhite who was named All AMC- Midfielder during her junior campaign. During her junior season, Willhite recorded seven goals on 34 shots with 18 shots being on goal. They also return Jackie Hagan and Danielle Wilde who were both named AMC Honorable Mention last year.

Missouri Baptist is currently ranked 23rd in NAIA women's soccer in total saves (40). They also rank 34th in the nation for saves per game (8). The Spartans have scored two goals in its five games this season.

The last time William Woods saw Missouri Baptist was on Sept. 16th in St. Louis when the Spartans defeated the Owls 2-1 in overtime.

The first matchup between the two schools took place Sept. 28, 1989 when the Spartans defeated the Owls, 2-1. Missouri Baptist currently holds a 15-10-2 series lead over the Owls. William Woods last defeated the Spartans on Oct. 26, 2013 in a 2-1 victory.

About the Owls
William Woods enters the contest coming off a 1-1 week. On Sept. 3rd, the Owls got their second win on the season defeating Southwestern Christian, 3-0. WWU was recently defeated 4-0 on Sept. 8th to No.3 Benedictine College (Kan.).

The Owls are currently 2-4 for the season, but look to get off to a strong start in conference play. Last season, the Owls finished 9-1-2 in AMC play.
