FULTON, Mo. – William Woods University Women's Soccer looks for their seventh straight win Saturday afternoon as the host Harris-Stowe State University. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Firley Field.
About Harris-Stowe
The Hornets enter the contest 10-4 overall and 7-3 in the American Midwest Conference which places them fifth in the conference.
After tying Roosevelt (Ill.) 1-1 in their home opener, they went on to win their next four games before falling 1-0 to Greenville. The lost was short lived as they responded by winning the next seven games. Their stretch was eventually stopped on Oct. 15
when they fell 3-2 to Freed-Hardeman. They went on to lose the following match 6-1 to No. 2 Columbia which took place Oct. 19.
Dropping two games in a row, HSSU attempted to regain momentum but would fall 2-1 in double overtime to Park. They will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak this weekend against the Owls.
Currently Harris-Stowe holds two national rankings. They rank 43
rd overall in total goals (41) and 48
th overall in total shutouts (6).
Johanna Wallstab is leading the way for the Hornets with nine goals on the season. She has attempted 51 total shots with 21 shots being on goal. Yuliana Noyola Miranda follows behind with seven goals of her own.
About William Woods
William Woods comes into the contest on a six-game winning streak. There are now 8-7 overall and are tied with Park at 7-2 in the AMC for a second-place conference standing.
The last time WWU suffered a loss was on Sept. 25 when they fell 4-0 to RV Columbia. Since then, they have defeated Stephens, Freed-Hardeman, Park, Williams Baptist, Central Baptist and Hannibal-LaGrange.
As of right now, the Owls rank 49
th overall in shots per game (18.4).
McKenzie Gourley is the only Owl with national rankings. She ranks 16
th overall in total goals (16), 17
th overall in goals per game (1.2), 23

Gourley has also been named AMC Women's Offensive Player of the Week this season.

History Between the Owls and Hornets
The first match between William Woods and Harris-Stowe took place on Sept. 12, 1995 when the Owls defeated the Hornets 4-0. Since then, they have faced each other 26 other times in which WWU holds a 26-1 series lead.
WWU will be looking to extend their 24-game winning streak to 25 in Saturday's match.
