About Harris-Stowe
The Hornets ended their 2019 campaign 10-6 overall and 7-5 in the AMC. They earned the seventh seed in the American Midwest Conference Championship.
They ended the regular season on a 1-0 loss to Lindenwood-Belleville on Oct. 30.
Johanna Wallstab led Harris-Stowe with nine goals this season. She attempted 54 shots with 22 shots on goal. On Sept. 1
, she recorded a season high two goals against Mount Mercy. Wallstab also recorded a season high six shots three times this season.
Yuliana Noyola Miranda follows closely behind with seven total goals this season. She attempted 41 shots with 22 shots on goal. On Oct. 1
, she recorded a season high two goals against Central Baptist. Miranda also recorded a season high eight shots on Oct. 12 in their win over Stephens.
Last year, HSSU fell to Park 4-1 in the opening round of the 2018 AMC Women's Soccer Championship. Wallstab scored the only goal for Harris-Stowe.
About William Woods
WWU ended the regular season 11-7 overall and 10-2 in the AMC. The Owls have not lost a match since Sept. 25 when they fell 4-0 to RV Columbia.
They played their final regular season game on Nov. 2 when they defeated Lyon, 1-0.
McKenzie Gourley and
Michyla Handley have played excellent for William Woods. They both picked up the final AMC Women's Soccer Players of the Week awards for their performances from Oct. 28 – Nov. 3.
Gourley has led WWU this season with 22 total goals. She has attempted 80 shots with 42 being on goal. On Oct. 29
, she scored a career high five goals in their victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Gourley also matched her career high 11 shots in the contest.
Handley has led the WWU goalkeepers this season with 50 total saves. In 17 games, she ended the regular season 11-5 overall.
The Owls ended their season with three national rankings; they rank 34
th overall in shots per game (19.4), 46
th overall in shots on goal per game (10) and 49
th overall in total goals (45).
Last season, William Woods made it to the AMC Championship Finals where they tied with Columbia College. CC advanced on penalty kicks. Prior to the loss, the Owls defeated Lindenwood-Belleville and Freed-Hardeman to get to the finals.
