Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team closed out the 2019 home portion of their schedule with a loss to Harris-Stowe State University, snapping their four-game winning streak. The Owls sit 5-4 on the season with a 2-1 conference mark.
The Owls finish the 2019 portion of their season on the road, starting with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at Columbia College on Thursday, Dec. 5.

Game Flow
HSSU won the tip and scored just 13 seconds in. They hit two more before
Andrew Nett hit a three to put the Owls on the board, 6-3.
HSSU scored the next eight to take a 14-3 lead with just over four minutes off the clock.
Makenzie Fessler broke the Owls' silence with a bucket in the paint with 14:21 on the clock to bring the Owls back to a single digit deficit, but HSSU pushed their lead back to 11.
Nett hit his second three with 11:01 to play to put the Owls within eight, but that was the last time the Owls were within single digits in the half. HSSU blasted an 8-0 run to take a 16-point lead with 9:07 on the clock, 26-10.
A 7-0 HSSU run followed, putting the Hornets up by 20.
Tyriel Nelson drained a three to jump start a 10-0 run over two minutes to bring the Owls within 11 with 1:48 to play. HSSU closed out the half with a 5-0 run to head into the locker room with a 16-point difference, 43-27.
HSSU shot 55.9 percent in the first half while holding the Owls to a mere 29.4 percent from the field.
Nett hit a three to start the second half, and after a foul on a fast break,
Codi Whitlock hit two free throws to bring the Owls back within 10, 45-35.
HSSU stayed one step ahead, but a dunk from Whitlock with 14:15 on the clock followed by Nett's fourth three-pointer of the game brought the Owls within seven with 13:15 on the clock.
Whitlock scored his 10th point of the day to bring the Owls back to single digits after HSSU hit a three, but HSSU pushed an 11-2 run over the next two and a half minutes to push their lead back to 17, 65-48.
With 5:32 on the clock,
D'Aaron Owens hit back-to-back three-pointers to aid in the Owls' 8-2 run that brought them within 12, 78-66.
After HSSU pushed back a 15-point lead with 3:34 on the clock,
Treshawn Gause scored four with two coming from the foul line to bring the Owls within 11 with 2:49 to play, 83-72.
Gause once again brought the Owls within 11 with 1:16 to play after HSSU scored, but having to foul to stop the clock, HSSU ended with a 15-point win, 90-75.
