Box Score 2 McPHERSON, Kan. –The William Woods University baseball team faced York College (Neb.) Sunday afternoon for a doubleheader series. The Owls split with the Panthers, winning game one, 2-1 and dropping game two, 2-1.
 
The Owls are now 2-5-1 on the season. 
 
Next on the schedule for the Owls is a road doubleheader at Missouri Valley College on Wednesday, Feb. 13. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
 
Game One
Isaiah Gibbs scored both runs for the Owls in game one. With a 0-1 count in the top of the third, he smashed his first home run of the season to tie the game at 1-1.  
 
The Panthers scored their first and only run of the game in the bottom of the second.
 
In the top of the seventh, Gibbs reached on a walk and scored on 
Connor Poulson's single. 
 
Game Two
Quincy Jones hit a RBI single in the fifth inning to score 
Trevor Garriott and give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
 
In the bottom of the inning, York evened the score with a one out homerun. They added their second run in the sixth to take the lead. 
 
The Owls were unable to get a runner on in the top of the seventh, ending the game with a 2-1 loss.
