FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team returns to action Thursday, Feb. 14
th as they host Lyon. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
About Lyon
The Scotts enter the contest 15-11 overall and 9-9 in the American Midwest Conference. They sit in seventh place in the AMC and are 8 games behind Harris-Stowe.
Their last time out they fell 74-48 to No. 23 Central Baptist. Faris Verlasevic led Lyon with 15 points on 4-9 shooting. Prior to the CBC loss, the Scotts were on a two game winning streak defeating Williams Baptist 79-72 on Feb. 7
th and a beating Freed-Hardeman 62-50 on Feb. 9
th.
Emir Sabic is leading Lyon with 14.2ppg. On Nov.17
th he scored a season high 26 points against Hannibal-LaGrange. He currently holds two Top 25 National Rankings; he ranks 10
th overall in the nation for total 3-Pt FG made (77) and 15
th overall in 3-Pt FG Made per game (3).
Eric Moses is also playing well for the Scotts. His 12.8ppg puts him second on the team in scoring. So far this season he has accumulated 332 points and snatched down 408 rebounds. He grabbed a season high 13 rebounds against Williams Baptist.
About the Owls
William Woods (16-9, 13-5 AMC), enter the contest fresh off a 89-80 victory over Lindenwood-Belleville.
Treshawn Gause matched his season high 21 points in the contest. The win against the Lynx was also the 50
th career win for head coach James Hayes.
Gause has stepped up huge for the Owls. Since the beginning of the New Year, he has recorded three 20+ point games. He's also emerged as the third leading scorer on the team putting up 10.8ppg. While his scoring has increased Gause has dished out 99 assists this season ranking him 27
th overall in the nation.
Freshmen
Andrew Nett has been making the best of his late season appearances. Over the last three games he has averaged 10.3ppg. In his season debut he scored 13 points on 5-7 shooting. He is currently shooting 55% from the field and 43% from three point territory.

Last time out, WWU defeated Lyon 66-61 on Jan. 3
rd. Gause led the Owls with 15 points and 3 assists. The series is currently tied 6-6 between the two teams.
