Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team dropped the series finale to No. 6 Freed-Hardeman University Saturday afternoon, 12-1.
The Owls fall to 12-25-1 on the season with a 4-17 conference mark.
FHU got on the board first with a two-run home run in the top of the third.
In the bottom of the inning,
Isaiah Gibbs homered over the left field fence to bring the game to 2-1 heading into the fourth inning.
In the top of the fourth, FHU scored two on a two RBI single and added two more on a two-run home run before the Owls grabbed the third out.
In the top of the seventh, FHU added another on a sacrifice fly to take a 7-1 lead.
A three-run home run in the top of the eighth gave FHU a 10-1 lead. They added their third home run of the day with a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to take a 12-1 lead.
The Owls were unable to score in the bottom of the inning, ending the game with a 12-1 loss.
Tim Redford went 2-for-4 from the plate.
Tristan Steffens (1-2) pitched the first 2.1 innings and was credited with the loss.
The Owls play their second-to-last road series at Lincoln Christian for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 9, starting a 1 p.m.
