Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Just five games into his sophomore season,
Darius Yohe broke the William Woods University career blocks record. He recorded his 83
rd block just five minutes into Tuesday's game at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, breaking the previously held record. At the conclusion of the game, Yohe had 86 blocks to his name.
The Owls grabbed a 76-64 win, bringing them to 2-3 on the season with a 2-1 conference record.
The team travels to Central Baptist University on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

Game Flow
The Owls won the tip, and
Darius Yohe scored to put the Owls up by two to start the game, but UHSP put together a nine-point run to take a seven-point lead just two and a half minutes in, 9-2.
Following Yohe's jumper to tie the game, he blocked his second shot of the game to break the WWU career blocks record.
Makenzie Fessler then went 2-for-2 from the foul line to take the lead. Another jumper from Yohe put the Owls back in the lead, but UHSP again went up.
A six-point run featuring a three from
Andrew Nett and a three-point play from
Jared Crutcher gave the Owls a five-point lead with 10:43 remaining in the first half, but UHSP put together an 11-point run to take a six-point lead, 30-24. They extended their lead to 11 with three minutes to play, 39-28.
The Owls scored the final five points of the half to head into the locker room trailing 39-33.
The Owls evened the score six minutes into the second half with a 7-0 run, 44-44. After three more ties, the Owls took a five-point lead with 8:57 on the clock, 55-50.
UHSP cut the game to one, but
Ian Hodges drained a three with 7:13 on the clock to jump start a 7-0 run for an eight-point lead, 64-56.
Hodges hit a long jumper to go back up by seven following two good UHSP free throws, and Yohe pushed the lead to nine with a bucket down low.
Two free throws from Hodges gave the Owls a 10-point lead with 52 seconds on the clock. USHP fouled to stop the clock, but the Owls took advantage as they went 6-for-6 from the line in the final minute to grab a 76-64 win.
The Owls outscored UHSP 43-25 in the second half.
