Box Score O'FALLON, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team opened the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championship with a walk-off 4-3 win over Harris-Stowe State University Tuesday night. The Owls entered the tournament as the no. three seed. They improve to 23-15 on the season.
The Owls now play two-seeded Missouri Baptist University on Wednesday, May 5, at 1 p.m.

Alex Wimer plated the first run of the game on
Isaiah Gibbs' RBI single to right field in the bottom of the third.
Alex Owens led off the seventh with a double to left field and scored on
Marcus Gonzalez's RBI single to left field.
Jack Niggemeier then scored on Gibbs' RBI sacrifice fly on the next play, giving the Owls a 3-0 lead.
HSSU knocked a three-run homer in the top of the eighth to even the score, 3-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, HSSU started with a wild throw to allow Owens to reach third base. They walked the next two batters (one intentionally), bringing Gonzalez to the plate with bases loaded. Gonzalez hit the ball to center field for a RBI single, bringing Owens home for the game-winning run.
The Owls recorded eight hits. Gonzalez went 3-for-5 from the plate with two RBI.
Max Storch (3-2) came in as relief in the final inning and was credited with the win. He struck out two of the three batters faced.
Logan Bexten pitched 8.0 innings and struck out 11.
