HANNIBAL, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team went 16-for-17 from the foul line in the second half to solidify their win over Hannibal-LaGrange Thursday evening. The 64-50 victory improves the Owls to 12-9 on the season with a 6-1 mark in the AMC.
The Owls look to serve Missouri Baptist their first conference loss on Saturday, Jan. 22. The two teams tip-off at 3 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.

Game Highlights
The two teams saw 14 lead changes through the first 11 minutes of play as both teams battled hard to hold the lead. A jumper from
Makenzie Fessler with 9:08 on the clock put the Owls up by one, and
Darius Yohe followed with a layup to take a three-point lead, 20-17.
A dunk from
Andrew Nett gave the Owls a four-point lead with 4:48 to play, but HLGU cut the game to one on the next play.
Jared Crutcher put together a 7-0 run himself in a minute span to put the Owls up by seven with two minutes to play, 29-22.
Nett scored the final points for the Owls on a three to put them up by nine, but HLGU hit a layup in the final 20 seconds to send the game into halftime with the Owls up 32-25.
HLGU took a one-point lead after an early 10-2 run in the second half, 37-36.
A layup from Yohe put the Owls back ahead just over six minutes in, and a traditional three-point play from Crutcher gave the Owls a four-point lead with 11:13 on the clock, 41-37.
HLGU cut the game to two and held the Owls silent for over five minutes.
A Yohe jumper reignited the Owls offensively, and a jump shot from Crutcher gave the Owls a six-point lead with 4:21 on the clock, 48-42.
A three from Schwartze sparked a 10-0 run with seven of the points coming off free throws to give the Owls a 14-point lead with a minute to play, 58-44.
HLGU hit a three to break their silence, but they resorted to fouling to stop the clock. Schwartze went a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line to close out the game with a 64-50 win.
