Box Score 2 JOPLIN, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team grabbed two wins in the final day of the NAIA Preview Tournament. On game one, the Owls defeated University of Saint Mary (Kan.), 20-8 and on game two, the Owls earned an 8-3 win over Graceland University (Iowa). The Owls improve to 3-4 on the season
Next for the Owls is NCAA Division III opponent, Westminster College, tomorrow at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, MO. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
Game One
The Owls defeated University of Saint Mary (Kan.), 20-8.
The Owls started off with a 3-0 lead on top of the second inning. Saint Mary took a 4-3 lead on top of the third.
On top of the fourth, Zack Krause hit a home run to trail by two, 7-5.
The Owls grabbed the lead once again on top of the fifth, 11-7.
On top of the sixth, Saint Mary scored one run but the Owls took the win with a 20-8 victory.
Game Two
The Owls won 8-3 over Graceland University (Iowa).
Ryan Long grabbed the win on the mound. He pitched 5.0 innings and struck out seven while allowing four hits and three runs.
