ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The success continues for William Woods University's throwers
Katie French and
Quentin Webert. Following the regular season finale, the American Midwest Conference announced that French tallied her sixth AMC Field Athlete of the Week title and Webert grabbed his third.
The Owls grabbed the AMC Field Athlete of the Week title every week they competed on the women's side. French grabbed six of the eight awards, and javelin thrower
Natalie Thomas picked up the other week. They did not compete one week where the award went to Hannibal-LaGrange.
AMC Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Katie French, William Woods
- Racked up three first-place finishes at the Truman State Twilight
- Won the shot put with a distance of 13.13m, hitting the NAIA "B" Standard.
- Tossed 46.79-meters in the hammer.
- Recorded a mark of 41.43-meters in the discus.
AMC Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Quentin Webert, William Woods
- Competed in two events at the Truman State Twilight
- Finished second out of 15 in the hammer throw with a distance of 53.89-meters
- Added a sixth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 36.40-meters
