COLUMBIA / JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Isaiah Gibbs broke two career records and tied two others as the William Woods University baseball team won the series over Williams Baptist University over the weekend, 2-1. Gibbs broke the career at-bats and RBI records while tying the runs and hits records.
The Owls improve to 17-9 on the season with a 5-1 conference mark.

The Owls travel to Iowa Wesleyan University for a weekday doubleheader on Tuesday, March 28. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
- The Owls scored first on an Isaiah Gibbs RBI single in the bottom of the third, plating Jack Niggemeier.
- WBU responded with an unearned run in the fourth off an error.
- WBU scored on a two-out, two-run homerun in the bottom of the eighth.
- The Owls finished with six hits.
- Ian O'Malley finished with two hits including a double.
- Pitching: Ryan Long started on the mound and pitched 7.0 innings. Andrew Fyffe (2-1) came in as relief. He pitched 0.2 innings and was credited with the loss. Logan Blumhagen closed out the game with the final out of the inning.
- WBU scored in the top of the first on an error and added a second run in the second on a RBI single.
- Jack Niggemeier hit a solo home run in the third.
- Isaiah Gibbs tied up the game with a two-out wild pitch in the sixth, and Blain Tuepker scored the go-ahead run on a botched double steal play.
- Kamron Morriss' RBI double to bring in Vincent Pyeatt put the Owls up 4-2.
- The Owls finished with just four hits but three of them were extra base hits (2B – Ian O'Malley, Kamron Morriss; HR – Jack Niggemeier).
- Pitching: Kaleb Haley (1-0) grabbed the win in relief. He pitched 2.0 innings and struck out three. Tyler Abney (3) finished the game and was credited with the save. Brock Glavey started on the mound and pitched 4.0 innings while striking out four.
