FAYETTE, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team split on the final day of the North Region Bash hosted by Central Methodist University Monday. The Owls opened the day with a 3-0 win over Saint Xaxier University (Ill.). They finished out the four-game bash with a 3-0 loss to host No. 14 Central Methodist.
 
The Owls went 3-1 throughout the bash. They picked up two wins over ranked opponents.
 
The team improves to 8-7 on the season.

• The Owls scored one run in each the first, third and fourth innings.
• Blain Tuepker's RBI single in the first scored Tyler Horton for the winning run.
• Kamron Morriss hit a RBI ground out to plate Ian O'Malley in the third.
• Zach Krause scored on an error in the fourth.
• The Owls finished with just four hits – Isaiah Gibbs, Blain Tuepker, Kamron Morriss (2B) and Jack Niggemeier.
• Pitching: Jared Stephens (2-1) pitched the complete game win. He struck out five and allowed just three hits and no runs.

• CMU scored all three of their runs in the third inning.
• The Owls were held to just one hit – Isaiah Gibbs.
• Pitching: Ian O'Malley (0-1) was credited with the loss on the mound. He pitched 2.1 innings, faced 15 batters and struck out one. Andrew Fyffe pitched 1.2 innings and struck out two of the seven batters faced. Logan Blumhagen and Jackson Truesdell each pitched one inning. Truesdell struck out two of the three batters faced.

 
 

The Owls play a single, nine inning game at College of the Ozarks (Mo.) Tuesday afternoon starting at 2 p.m.
