ST. LOUIS, Mo.- William Woods pitcher, Max Benton has been named the AMC Pitcher of the Week the conference announced on Monday morning. 

Benton, a freshman from Clyde River, Prince Edward's Island, finished the week with a 7 inning complete game win over future AMC opponent Mission University. Max recorded six strikeouts and scattered six hits across his seven innings of work, while only giving up two runs. He finished the week with a 2.57 ERA as the Owls split with Mission University 2-2. 

WWU hosts a pair of home games this week as they play Missouri Valley College on Tuesday and Culver Stockton College on Friday. 

Austin Teal from Central Baptist College was named player of the week.
