After a grounder to second by Willenberg to start the seventh, Niggemeier and
Tyler Horton connected on back-to-back at bats, launching a pair of solo shots to give WWU a 5-3 lead.
Matt Hanson drew a one-out walk, forcing the Bobcats to call on Greene once again in relief. The Ozarks closer was able to get the home side out of the jam.
Woods responded with a pitching change of its own, bringing in
Jackson Truesdell in the bottom of the seventh, and the senior was able to deliver, recovering after a leadoff walk to force an easy 5-3 double play to wrap the game up.
The Owls are back in action on Tuesday, heading to Missouri Valley College for the second half of a home-and-home series that kicked off with a record-setting 35-15 win for WWU. First pitch in the nine-inning game is set for 3 p.m.
