WALNUT RIDGE, Ark.- Williams Woods University (24-19-1, 11-7 AMC) lost the third game of their three-game set to Williams Baptist University (26-16, 8-10 AMC) on Saturday by the score of 12-5.
William Woods opened the game giving up three runs in the first two innings before finally scratching the score column when

Kaden Kinsler reached home on an erred throw by the outfielder. Â These runs cut the lead to five runs. The Eagles rallied the offense again in the sixth inning scoring three runs, and the seventh inning putting up a single run.
The Woods offense rallied late scoring one run in the eighth inning when freshman
Colby Caton singled through the hole in the right side of the infield scoring
Jacob McWhirter on the base knock. The Owls, now down 12-4, were tasked with scoring eight runs in the ninth inning to keep the game alive. Freshman
Kaden Kinsler hit a solo shot in the ninth to cut the lead to seven runs, but that would be all the Owls would tally in the frame cementing the final score at 12-5 in favor of the Eagles.
William Woods will host Westminster College on Tuesday, followed by a conference series on Thursday and Friday in Columbia against the (RV) Columbia College Cougars. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Backer Sports Complex.
