William Woods arm
Peyton Clampitt was lights out in the beginning of the game, allowing only one hit in the first two innings. The Eagles eventually responded with a run in the top of the third inning after a lead off walk came all the way around to score. Williams Baptist took the lead in the next inning, after Eagles arm Noah Willingham faced the minimum, as Jacob Watkins doubled to left field and was brought home on a single by N. Jones.
The Eagles put up two runs in each the sixth and seventh innings to grow their lead to five runs. The Owls offense battled back in the seventh rattling off two runs in the frame.
Jacob McWhirter reached second base on a fielding error by the left fielder, and was brought home on a single by
Kamron Morriss. Two batters later,
Cade Irwin hit a double down the line in right field that scored
Vincent Pyeatt,
Kamron Morriss' courtesy runner.
The Owls threatened again in the ninth inning when McWhirter hit a lead off single. After an amazing double play turn by the Eagles middle infield, the steam seemed to have left the Owls offense.
