GREENWOOD, Ind. - In the first season he could receive the award, William Woods University sophomore
Kaden Kinsler became the first Owls baseball player to earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American in seven years as he was selected to the second team, announced CSC on Tuesday.
Established in 1952 and selected by CSC, the Academic All-America® program is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success. Student-athletes who are nominated must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 and must be a starter or an important reserve on their team.
Kinsler epitomized this criterion to a tee, flashing his skills on the diamond while holding a 3.94 GPA as a business administration major. The Elsberry, Missouri, native also received first-team All-American Midwest Conference (AMC) honors, CSC Academic All-District®, NAIA Ball Player of the Week on Feb. 12 and AMC Baseball Player of the Week for Week 2 (Feb. 10) this year.
Guiding the Owls at the plate this season, Kinsler hit .366 with 14 home runs, 61 RBI and 57 runs while putting his name in the WWU record book for several offensive categories.
Kinsler's 2025 CSC Academic All-America® accolade was William Woods' first since Tyler Cunningham's first-team selection in 2018. He took home the Owls' fourth second-team Academic All-America® award and 11th overall.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
