FULTON, Mo.- Closing out the academic year, two more student-athletes were awarded WWU Athletics Student-Athlete of the Month Honors. Addie Rhea (Softball) and Kaden Kinsler (Baseball) etched their names into the record books with a blazing April.
Rhea, a junior first basemen from St. Louis, Mo., boasted a .383 avg through 15 games played. She tallied 18 hits, three doubles, two triples, and three round-trippers in the month on her way to scoring seven runs. In the field Rhea was immaculate, recording zero errors on 89 attempts.
The Owls third-year center fielder, Kinsler, already holds record for career triples, triples in a season, slugging percentage in a season, top ten in hits, top ten in doubles, and tied for most home runs in a season has once again etched his name in the record book. Kinsler belted a deep fly to right field in the series against Missouri Valley to take sole possession of the top mark for home runs in a career. Carrying a .328 average throughout the month, Kinsler added six doubles, two triples, and four home runs on 15 runs scored. His 42 total bases for the month mark another milestone in the WWU record books.
William Woods University Student-Athlete of the Month Honors are awarded to the student-athletes who received the most votes. Each month, athletes are nominated by faculty, staff and school personnel. These nominees are placed into the voting system and are selected based on the results of a panel of seven senior members of the athletic department.
