Less than a week after the last meeting between the teams, the William Woods University women's soccer team hosts Lyon College in a first-round matchup in the AMC Postseason Tournament. Kickoff for Tuesday's match is set for 6 p.m. from Firley Field.
The Matchup
The Owls and the Scots finished tied for fourth in the league with identical 5-3 AMC marks, but with a 2-1 win at Lyon last Saturday, WWU claimed the no. 4 seed in the postseason and earned the right to host today's rematch.
William Woods posted a 9-7-1 overall record in the regular season, while Lyon was only able to muster a 7-10-1 overall mark.
Last Time Out

Home Sweet Home

The Owls have outscored their opponents 58-6.
Putting The “Student-” First
On Thursday,
Jamie Palermo and
Brittany Graue were announced as members of the College Division Capital One Academic All-District 5 Team. The Academic All-America program, sponsored by CoSIDA - the College Sports Information Directors Association - recognizes student-athletes who are standout performers both on the field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must have a 3.300 cumulative GPA and must be a significant contributor to the team. The all-district teams are selected in balloting of CoSIDA members, with the first team All-District selections from the eight districts moving on to the national ballot.
It is the second All-District team nod for Palermo, who picked up Third Team At-Large Academic All-America honors last season for women's golf. It is the first All-District nod for Graue.

“Replay” On Owls Vision
Thanks to the efforts spearheaded by Steven Goodson and Jim Long, we are now able to bring you the action from today's game in near perfect quality on your smartphones and other internet-enabled devices. With the encoding and transmission process, there is a short delay between the live action at Firley Field and what you see on the broadcast, but it makes for a great “instant replay” experience at the field.
