Box Score 2 BROOKHAVEN, Miss.- The No. 25 ranked William Woods University baseball team picked up two more wins on Saturday to round up its four game weekend series against Calumet College of St. Joseph. The team posted a 14-5 win in game one and a 5-3 victory in game two for the sweep on the day.
In game one, the Owls offense broke loose as several players collected a pair of hits against the Crimson Wave, which inluded
Grant Garrett (2-for-2),
Austin Clapp (2-for-3) and
Javier Ledesma (2-for-4), while Garett and Clapp recorded three and two RBI's respectively, as Garrett knocked in his first homerun off the year.
Jordan Dey tallied his first grand slam on the season, amassing four RBI's and scoring a run. On the mound,
Dustin Kremer got the win in relief, pitching a perfect 1.2 innings with two strike outs.
To complete the weekend series, in game two, the Owls pitcher
Ryan Yuengel got the win in relief with 1.3 hitless innings of work, with two strikeouts. Dey had another strong outing, as the junior continued to be red hot from the plate, going 2-for-3, recording two more homeruns on the day, and totaling four RBI's. His second homerun gave the Owls its go ahead lead in the sixth inning of the game, while Clapp also contributed a double and a pair of hits in the final match-up agianst CCSJ.
