Baseball Falls to Missouri Baptist

Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Baseball team was defeated by Missouri Baptist University, 14-8, on Tuesday afternoon on Owl Field in American Midwest Conference action.
 
William Woods struggled early in the contest against the Spartans as they allowed Missouri Baptist to score four runs in the top of the first inning. Starter Jesse Remington struggled on the day as he gave up eight hits but he got no help from his defense as the Spartans scored seven runs, zero earned, off of Remington.
 
The Spartans grew its lead to 7-0 before the Owls got on the board. However, the Owls could never mound a comeback as the got the lead as close as four runs, 8-4, after the sixth inning. However, Spartans continued to add to the lead and the Owls dropped the contest, 14-8.
 
Patrick Dillon led the Owls at the plate was he went 3-for-5 on the day. Jordan Dey followed going 2-for-4. They were the only Owls with multi-hits in the contest. The Owls collected 11 hits in the loss.
 
The Owls return to action on Saturday, March 19th when they host Lyon College in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
