Hall of Fame
The 1981-82 swimming and diving team was inducted into the 2021 Hall of Fame class. They finished seventh at the 1982 NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships after totaling 122 points.Â

The team was comprised of Beth Austin, Lauren Baker, Debbie Beason, Kim Cox, Yza Easton, Julie Glass, Nancy MacConnell, Shelly Murray, Ann Patterson, Judi Piepho, Kathy Weaver and Christina Zucchini. They were coached by Ann Asbell. Â

The Owls won 10-of-12 dual meets and broke or established 15 William Woods records. Four of those records still stand following the conclusion of the WWU swimming and diving program.

The team finished the season with seven NAIA All-America honors. Kathy Weaver earned All-America honors in five events. She finished third in the 100-meter breaststroke, fifth in the 100-meter individual medley and sixth in the 200-meter individual medley. The quartet of Weaver, Yza Eaton, Laura Baker and Nancy MacConnell earned All-America honors with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle relay. The foursome of Weaver, Baker, MacConnell and Christina Zucchini were recognized for a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay.Â
