Coach Bob Jones was hired as the school's first strength and conditioning coach in July of 2001. He has worked diligently in helping a diverse group of student-athletes and their respective teams fulfill their athletic potential.

"It's an honor if you look at the people that where put in before us, the accomplishments they made, the contributions they made," stated Coach Bob Jones as he talks about going into the Hall of Fame. "Its humbling to join them and it's a great honor"

Coach Jones works with student-athletes in each of the Owls 16 athletic programs. He designs and implements preseason, in-season, postseason and sport-specific and individual-specific training programs for WWU's student-athletes.

Prior to coming to WWU, Coach Jones served as the assistant strength coach at the University of Missouri. While at Missouri, he worked with swimming and diving, wrestling, tennis, soccer, volleyball, softball, football and basketball.

As a strength and conditioning coach, most of Coach Jones work is done behind the scenes and rarely receives the recognition he deserves. Coach Jones has played an integral role in the success of the Owls athletic programs.

During his time at WWU, the department has achieved numerous conference championships, national championship appearances, an NAIA National Invitational Team Championship, and an NAIA Individual National Champion. The foundation of those accomplishments started in the weight room under his leadership.

In January of 2016, Coach Jones was named strength and conditioning association registered strength and conditioning coach emeritus.
