Hall of Fame
Sue Neal was inducted into the 2020 Hall of Fame class.
She was the women's tennis coach from 1982 to 1993. She began her career at William Woods as an instructor in physical education and education. During her years at WWU, she served as the head coach for track, volleyball and tennis.
Neal led the tennis team to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament five times. In 1993, she was named NAIA District 16 Coach of the Year. She was named the 1991-92 NAIA District Female Athletic Administrator of the Year and the 1991-92 Missouri Multiple Sclerosis Society Female College Coach of the Year.
Neal was a member of the Association of Teacher Educators, the Missouri Association of Teacher Educators and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She was a member of the NAIA Tennis Coaches Association and the United States Tennis Association.
She also was a member of the NAIA District 16 Executive Committee and director of the NAIA District 16 Women's Tennis Championships, and she served as the softball liaison to the NAIA District 16 Executive Committee.
