In her first season with the team, Tracy Gastineau was named AMC and NFCA Midwest Coach of the Year, after guiding the Owls to a 45-13 overall record and going 9-1 in the AMC.

Since then, she has continued to add on to her already impressive coaching career, as she has accumulated 592 wins, five AMC Coach of the Year honors, two Region V Coach of the Year awards, four AMC regular and postseason titles and led the team to six NAIA National Tournament appearances.

Prior to her coaching at WWU, Gastineau was a standout athlete at William Woods, where she received softball all-district honors in both 1992 and 1993. She was also an all-district performer on the Owls basketball team during her senior season.
